Official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China to Tajikistan

On July 13, 2021 at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin a two-day official visit of a State Councilor, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi has begun to the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Mr. Wang Yi.

During their meeting, the Foreign Ministers of Tajikistan and China discussed the implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, Afghanistan and the regional security situation and the state and prospects of cooperation. The ministers exchanged views on topical regional and international issues, as well as cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international and regional organizations, including the UN, SCO and CICA.

Sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in political, economic and investment spheres, transport, agriculture and health, as well as in the fight against Covid-19 integration.

At the end of the meeting new cooperation documents were signed.

On July 14, 2021 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China will take part in the next meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers and the first meeting of the SCO-Afghanistan Contact Group at the ministerial level.
